ST. IGNATIUS DEEMERTON PRESERVATION SOCIETY

St. Ignatius Preservation Society

The former St. Ignatius Formation Centre in Deemerton, Ontario was sold on May 30th, 2008 to the St. Ignatius Preservation Society.

The Society is a non-profit coroporation, registered as a charity that was created by the former church's founding families and those groups that used the facility in the past.

St. Ignatius has served the community for 155 years and the Society's mandate is to continue this legacy by:
- promoting the Roman Catholic faith through group functions and retreats;
- offering the facility as a community centre for the benefit of the general public;
- and preserving the historic nature of the buildings.

The retreat centre is operated entirely by Catholic lay persons and will continue to be rented in order to cover the expenses taken on by the Society.

This is a new start for the centre under new management.
